ますます寒くなり雪が降るようになったある日、Nonaは人形を連れて外で遊んでいた。そこへBelindaもやって来て一緒に遊んでいるとMr Tiffany Jonesと出くわす。彼は日本のことについてよく知っていた。彼は自分の子どもであるGemも同じように自由に遊べたらと思っていた。Gemは全て制限されたものの中で生活していたのであった。Belindaはクリスマスプレゼントにローラースケートをもらうが、注意を聞かずに遊んでしまったためにGemと衝突し彼女を突き飛ばしてしまい、BelindaはMiss Tiffany Jonesにひどく叱られる。Belindaは謝罪の手紙を送ったが返事はなく、新学期が始まってからもGemは学校へは来なかった。

19世紀～20世紀前半の間、大人は子どもを同じ社会においての一員としてみなしていなかった。そのため、両親でさえ自分達の子どもの世話をしていなかった。1918年からは親達は子どもの面倒をみるようになった。また子ども達を一人の自分と同じ人間としてみなすようになっていった。第二次世界大戦以降、子どもは自由を求め、自立心を持つようになった。そのため、両親から離れ子ども達だけで行動するようにもなった。

1960年代、警察は市民から信頼されており、市民とも友好的に接していた。しかし、現代の警察はあまり信頼もされておらず、市民に対しても友好的とは言い難い。

This is "sitting room." This is like a living room in Japan. People relax in this room everyday their lives with their family. For example, eating dinner, watching TV, talking with family and so on.

Enid Blyton

She was a famous and popular writer all over the world and born in 19c. She lived in the same period as Rumer Godden. There are many famous works, for example "The Famous Five", "Mallory Towers", and so on. "The Famous Five" is a story of adventures and "Mallory Towers" is a story in a girl's school. And in Rumer Godden's works, the characters appear only in one work, but in Enid Blyton's works, the characters sometimes appear in other various works. She died in 1960s, but her works are still popular after she died.

This story tells about an importance of living our own life. Kizzy who is a half-gypsy was hated by everything and everyone around her. But, she never gave up her life. She was all alone due to Gran's death. In spite of that, she never gave up her life, either. If we are full of hardship, we shouldn't give up our lives. It is the most important to live. If we live our lives, we will meet many happy things. There are many happy things in our life.

When I read this book first, I feel sad. Kizzy was all alone. The community hate her, so I'm sorry foe her. But, her courage saved her and she grew up into a strong girl. After reading this book, I want to be a strong girl like Kizzy who has a strong spirit.

about "ARMAGEDDON"(movie)

This story tells about a sense of responsibility.
Men who saved the earth did their own part. If we were told to save the earth suddenly, would we able to do the mission? We must save not only our family and friends, but also people all over the world. That won't be easy. We may die because of that. But if we had a true sense of responsibility, we could do that mission. So, it's very important to have a true sense of responsibility and try to do something for someone.

about "The NOTEBOOK"(book)

This story tells us true love.
A man continued to love his wife who had defects of memory and to take care of her till she died. Although she had forgotten him, he loved her. He had true love for his wife. Even his children were surprised by his deed. But he continued to take care of her. We can feel his true love for her with our heart and find it important to love our partner sincerely. Finally, his wife remembered him by his true love. So, we can know the importance of true love through this story.
